I think it would keep people watching to try and catch a glimpse or guess the real story behind it. Peolpe watched Home Improvement for how many seasons with Wilson, the neighbor, never showing his face below the eyes until the last episode, right? Stay true to your character and your story!

well, it depends, if it is Live action, no. Remember "The TICK", that failed horribly. If it is a cartoon, then yeah, it would work fine.
