Define famous! If you mean a pop star, or a soap actor, or someone who was on Big Brother, then no. But have met a fair number of people who are high up in my work field, and well known as a result - not necessarily in the UK.

In the course of my job a few years ago, I had to contact a well-known football manager. He was a top player at that time & I had to contact him concerning a charity event we were hosting for kids in need.
He kept promising to supply things like sogned footballs, jerseys, posters, photos etc for our raffle. He even arranged to come to the office to meet a disabled fan (a little girl, 9 years old) & sign a photo for her. The little girl duly arrived but he never turned up.
We never got the items for the charity raffle either.
Now every time i see him on TV I want to punch his smug lights out.
Can't name him I'm afraid but I will tell you that he is Scottish & not Alex Ferguson.

I used to go drinking with phil oakey from the human league but that was many years ago.
Last year i went for a pint with my mate and he brought along a guy called Glen Medieros, he had a (terrible) hit in the 80's, look at:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/totp/artists/m/medeiros_glen/clips/nothings_gonna_change_my_love_for_you.shtml
And probably the worst, my wife is related to Bernard Manning!
