I am a 8th grader in Fairfax County. I was wondering if I could be able to take algebra 2 over the summer and then take Precalculus in 9th grade. Do I need recommendations?

You can take anything you want in the summer.
This will definately effect what you do in high school
You will be allowed to take precalculus.
I am a 10th grader now, but I did something similar to you in 8th

You probably could, but I'd talk to the principal, your counselor, and whoever the Algebra 2 teacher is (you might even be able to get credit for it that way).

It all depend how well you are doing in math. It all depends on your status at school and where you live. I know in Fresno they offer classes in the summer for math and English and other courses. good luck
