The company that publishes the Yellow Pages that your ad appears in would not place your ad without a signed contract with you. Did you agree to have an ad placed in last years book, but decided not to renew this year? If that is the case, you might want to read the fine print in the contract you probably signed last year. It could be that the ad automatically rolled over into the new book unless you specifically notified the company to discontinue it in the new book. I have never seen this in a Yellow Pages contract, but then again, there are many versions of the Yellow Pages in cities the size of Dayton, Ohio these days and I wouldn't be surprised to see such a scheme.

Unless I am mistaken, GTE provides land line phone service to Dayton, OH residents and I am sure their Yellow Pages publisher would not resort to such a scheme. Do you have a business cell phone? It could be that the ad is tied to the cell phone provider since they offer their own versions of "cell phone yellow pages".

Good luck with your yellow page ad problem.

You may not have given them enough advanced notice . . .

Don't pay for it if notice was given not to place it.

Most places have a deadline, if you did not meat this deadline, you may be stuck . . .
