Where to stay in Miami?

We are planning a trip to Miami comming up soon. I have been told to stay in South Beach or Miami Beach. The resort that caught my interest on Miami beach was Miami beach Resort and Spa. Anyone know of a nice resort on South Beach with a great pool and beautiful beach atmosphere?

Try the Fountainbleu, Goldfinger was filmed there. Also the Eden Roc, gracious hotel.
