It's not a derby. It's because Sunderland are in the championship and Middlebrough are in the middle of nowhere.
So they just called it a derby to make there trophy less seasons more exciting.

two average teams over hyped playing badly, scoring no goals! Sunderland and newcastle is the real derby but can't happen as sunderland were crap and got relegated - North east football is not that good lads!!

sunderland and newcastle is the real derby but middlesboro is ryt nxt to us so a suppose it is a derby as well but nothing really hapeen at the derbys between boro n sunderland n yeah but teams are never going to win anything newcastle has won nwt in 50 yrs and ithere neva garn 2 win owt
