My Mum has a couple of kind of full length house-coat type things - they are made of a very light nylon type material with a zip up the front. I think my Dad bought them somewhere in Asia many years ago now and she is trying to replace them.

I have searched the Internet but found nothing really that looks the same. Anybody know what I am talking about and where I might look?

yes i think you mean the traditional clothing of the north african. you can buy them all across north africa in tunisia, morrocco and egypt . the ones i own do not have zips, they just go straight over the top of my head. but i have no idea where to buy them in england, i would suggest any area where there are many north africans.but i know them as GALLABEYA so try that it seems to bring up some in e bay

Not really sure what you're talking about but I think you're pretty much looking for a high quality housecoat. Try looking for a caftan.
