Seperate species (by definition) can never produce fertile offspring, that's what makes them seperate species. There are many species that can mate with another species and produce a new critter, but it is always infertile.

(Note to DION....all domestic dogs are the same species, silly goose!)

Rock pigeon (columba livia) and ring necked dove (Streptopelia risoria). Not even the same genus! I have one that was produced by my birds!

species of what? what type of animals?..reptiles, birds , or mammals...dogs interbred all the time...that is how mutts are created..no clear lineage...mules or jackasses were created by a horse mating with a donkey...wolves or coyotes mate with dogs
