He is molting and he was acting funny rubbing his eyes a lot and acting like it bothered him to keep them open, so I helped him a bit with the dead skin cause it was all over his legs and stuff and since then he's been acting fine. Should he still go to the vet, or is it most likely because he was trying to molt and get it off and it was getting in his eyes and irrtating them? ( I know I shouldn't peel it off, but I was careful and he REALLY needed it apparenlty)

If he's acting okay now, it was probably the shedding. You might want to increase his humidity around the time he sheds - it will help the skin come off easier (and on it's own).

If they are swollen or puffy, these could indicate an infection and he should see a vet.

What is the humidity in its tank? Box turtles, especially Easterns, like pretty high humidity levels.

As long as the skin under the sheds looks normal, I would not worry about it.

I know that with my turtle, the shed skin was going into the filter, and not allowing for proper cleaning of the water. Make sure you clean out the filters, because turtles get eye infections very easily.

Yeah i wouldnt worry about it. If his eyes are cloudy looking it could have a problem. Clear eyes are a sign of a healthy turtle and cloudy eyes can be an early warning sign of illness.

All reptiles molt to grow. It's natural. Don't worry about it. If you're that uncomfortable, you could go to the vet to make sure.
