I could not believe the racial comment made by victoria on Itv's Pokerface tonight as she was pokerfaced by a Canadian and folded early she said to ant the only good thing to come out of canada is maple syrup, I find this comment to be offensive and racial, i myself am canadian and thought it was rude and racial and think that victoria needs to get some class. Anyone else watch this show tonight? what did you think? I have made a complaint to oxcom and hope you will do the same.

Wow, I find that comment to be very offensive as well. Some people just can't say any nice things, and it's very sad.

tucksie & similar thinkers are right on this. You sound a bit oversensitive. It may have been a bit rude, but not racist. Most sensible English people would probably totally ignore similar comments but in this (sad) age of litigation & compensation everyone's out to make a 'fast buck.' Did the Canadian guy seem to take offence? Maple syrup is sweet, isn't it?
Some people seem to create a problem where there isn't one & that doesn't help any situation.

the problem is these days the word racist is way over used and because of that when something terribly racist does happen the public are sick of it and cant be bothered with hearing it lighten up a bit then when someone is actually racist maybe people will listen and there will be justified outcry but people can not be bothered with it if people are going to moan about feeling prejudiced over a bit of maple syrup are they

You do know that you can't actually SEE a comment, don't you?
I really think you are taking political correctness too far. Maybe the only Canadian thing the guy could think of at the time was Maple Syrup.

It sound to me like she's in simple terms attracted to being in touch in a relationship with an African American guy. She's have been given "Jungle Fever" i'm no longer mad at her, I do too! On a intense notice, if she's pestering you, set up a time to have a sit down along with her. Respectfully, like the gentleman your mom taught you to be, and clarify to her that there are some issues which you do no longer approve of. case in point, the calling you in any respect weird and wonderful hours of the evening, and touching on the pigmentation of your dermis. Which I heavily do no longer think of she meant something racist with the help of it. She's probable in simple terms intrigued with the seen being with you. Or she in simple terms could fairly be into you. yet while she's freaking you out, be open and elementary along with her, and tell her the way you sense related to the incidents that have befell along with her so a techniques. positioned an end to it now until now it gets out of control. And in the journey that your attracted to her, and he or she is familiar with you, then get your groove on. If no longer, make it short, straight forward, and candy, and allow it bypass. next please!

Why do people jump on the PC bandwagon and lable everything rascist when a couple of years ago they would have thrown a witty remark back. I personally am sick of this rascist title when quite clearly it is nothing of the kind. In the UK we had a guy accused of thinking rascist thoughts, the mind boggles. Then we had a guy fined for blowing his car horn in a rascist manner.
The worlds gone crazy and the sooner it rights itself the better. The prblemis a lot of people are making a lot of money out of it so it's in their own interest to keep it going.

I can see why you might be offended by this comment but racist??? Come on, your kidding, right? When did she even mention colour? I don't think you understand what the word "racist" actually means.

no,i dont agree with you,the English arent as quick to pull out the rascist card as quick as other countries,we take it on the chin and accept it,other countries should take a leaf out of our book, and chill out more.what do all you people do? sit their with a pen and paper waiting for something to be said that you think is meant to be rascist against you.did you think "oh theres a canadian on,i'd better watch it there'll definately be a comment about us" enjoy the programme and complain about the really bad things in life and not something that is on the television.get a life basically!

The comment made by Victoria wasn't racist at all. It was possibly offensive to anyone Canadian. I thought the statement was pathetic and immature. She was upset that she was out-witted by this guy.
