If you delete something from your computer, it does not go anywhere, only its entry in active directory is deleted, making that area available to be written over by other activities after empty area of disk is exhausted. When you empty your recycle bin, area of your deleted items becomes available for immediate write over, but things still remains there. When you defrag, it practically deletes the things, but your record of visiting those sites etc. might be there in registry files. There are special programs for cleaning of disk available in the market, which makes a deleted item, go completely. Scarry, huh ?

Deleting an item from your PC has many ways:
1- Deleting a program requires to go to the control panel and from add-remove u can delete the program completely.
2- Deleting files downloaded from the net, simply go to "clean disc" in the accessories, chose to clean the disc u installed windows in, click OK.
3- If u delete a file through recycle pin, u have to empty the recycle pin afterwords.

If you delete something from your computer it automatically goes to the Recycle Bin which is found on the Desktop. If you want to delete the file permanently just go the recycle bin then delete the files from the recycle bin, too!! If you delete all the files from the recycle bin just right click on the recycle bin and click Empty the Recycle Bin!! This is basic stuff, you should know this.

To check...pull up search , choose all files and folders and type in the name of the program you deleted. Any reference or file left in your computer will come up. Be careful tho to choose only the ones that belong to that program and then delete them. Sometimes when you search ...for instance MSN messenger ...
all references to MSN will post ...you don't want to delete all MSN just the ones from messenger ( MSN and messenger used only as an example).
