That's a very good question. Well, here's what I think: The things that the fairy godmother turns into (the footman, driver, coach, horses) need to get back to work, but the dress disapears because it's just one thing, while the glass slippers, there are two of them, so I guess you need to have both for them to disappear!

it matters what version of Cindrerella you're talking about. Because in Ella Enchanted (the book NOT the movie) she doesn't get the glass slippers from her godmother, she gets them from the prince and she decides to wear them to the ball considering that they are the only good shoes she has.
In the cartoon by disney I don't know why they don't disapear. Probably because it's a kids movie and they wanted it to have a happy ending.

Well my guess is because she was not wearing the shoe when the spell broke. She had left it on the stairs. Besides how else where they to carry the plot on. Actually I could probably come up with a few things but it works. lol

Because that's the way it was in the old version which was made hundreds of years ago (the grim brothers version) and it is more entertaining than knowing the name of Cinderella or something.

because her fairy Godmother wanted to give her proof that the whole thing was real. she allowed her to keep the slippers as a memory and a gift.

it doesn't disappear because the fairy godmother knows cinderella's destiny and can tell where her heart is

I am going to say, that her fairy godmother felt that she, like every other woman, deserves one pair of awesome "spoil me" shoes to add to her wardrobe
