depending on where you are wanting to go,
I remember going to the Mackanac Bridge when I was younger, and they had all sorts of nice restaraunts there, and things to see. If you are wanting a romantic getaway, I don't know how it would fare, there is a place in mid-michigan called the Shack, it is a smaller almost cabin like place with a small lake etc. My dad went there and really liked it.

You could go to Traverse City and just relax and do some gambling. Or you could go to Mackinaw City, really the Upper Peninsula to Sault Ste. Marie. Even though the town is laid back and quiet (too quiet), it's a great place to quiet your mind when the hustle and bustle of city life gets to be too much for you. You could go to the Soo and do some gambling or find a nice hotel and just relax and get it on with that special someone! Since it's a quiet town, you can make all the noise you want and possibly wake the neighbors!

If you play golf, try Treetops, Crystal Mountain, or Garland. They have good weekend packages.

I definitely agree about Traverse City and that entire area. So many good places to eat and stay, hiking, shopping, camping, swimming, water sports, wineries, golf, and winter sports depending on what time of year you're going.

Petoskey is a lot of fun, too.

Also, the western "coast" of Michigan is wonderful: Saugatuck and Grand Haven are recommended.

My fiance and I enjoy the thumb-area during the spring, summer, and fall for camping, hiking, and just getting away.

Good luck and enjoy!

in case your husband truly is that thoughtful then he gained't be offended by technique of a heart-to-heart talk the position you're taking his hand and look him contained in the interest and tell him how a lot you adore him. Then clarify that even as you adore the flora and the presents and how romantic he's and also you do understand how a lot he cares, it may please you larger if he placed truly some the money he spends on those flora and presents at your residence fund. it may properly be a touch sticky even as it includes coping with those kinds of thoughts so make certain that when you talk about this you enable him understand on your human being way over the subsequent few days how a lot you're taking care of him too. it truly is a 2 way highway and he advantages an identical interest he's supplying you with with the interest. see you later as you save his thoughts in ideas his ego could come out intact and both of you're in route of possessing your living house.

Mount Pleasant has a great resort/casino Soaring Eagle. The hotel rooms are really first class and the casino is lots of fun! unfortunately , there is not much else around there, but if you like to gamble and eat at great restaurants, go there

Also my husband and I went up to Sault Saint Marie for Fourth of July weekend one year. IT was really a special time. Nice laid back town, many sites to see around there, Taquamenon Falls is not far and is romatic and the second larges falls in Eastern US. There is a Kewadin casino in town to gamble at. The Sault Locks are also a thing to see, they have museums and historical sites all around there. We really enjoyed that trip :)

Depends on what time of year. Summer the Great Lakes and beaches are awesome. Mackinac Island is a lot of fun--lots to do there. Frankenmuth is a nice place year round you can go to--Zehnders and Bavarian Inn for the famous chicken dinners, down the road is Birch Run for tons of outlet shopping. There are tons of places to go camping. Traverse City is cool to go to from there you can go up to Leelanau Peninsula to all of the wineries--that's kind of romantic. For winter weather:

Go skiing! There are lots of packages with great deals.

If that's not your thing, try Mackinac or up north!

For summertime:

Go to the UP. Taquamininan falls is my favorite place. Also cut river off highway 2 is a really scenic fun place. Mackinac island is fun!

Try Traverse City/Boyne/Torch Lake area. gorgeous, hotels to stay in & awesome campgorunds as well (im talking summer on that one) if you camp, try Young State park on Lake Charlevoix. Frankenmouth is pretty cool, it's a touristy area, but a cute town & stuff to do. Mackinaw Island is always fun...
