I made a thirty on mine. I want colleges to know that I am only in eighth grade so they won't take this as a bad score. Do they look at the age of a student taking the exam?

You certainly will be taking them again before college. The colleges look at all material that is sent to them and consider that you took it early and when you take it again. You can ask that only the next one be sent. Theydo not look at the age of the test taker, but the group of test materials sent.

You aren't applying to colleges in eighth grade, are you? Usually when 7th through 9th graders take the ACT or the SAT it's through a talent search program.

If you take the ACT or SAT before 9th grade it does not go on your record, and neither your current middle school, your future high school, or any college you apply to in the future will learn these scores. So don't worry! Your scores don't count until next year.

And anyhow, a 30 (out of 36) on the ACT is an excellent score, not one you should be ashamed of! Heck, I'd worry more about colleges NOT receiving this score, rather than about them receiving it! No college would take this as a bad score--the average is around 25.

I hope this helped, and congratulations on the 30!

No, but you should probably take it again sometime in your junior year of high school. I wouldn't submit that score to colleges. Take it several times and they'll look at your highest score.
