If you've raised him from a baby, and he doesn't know any other way of life, you more or less have to. It worse to let him go and fend for himself if he doesn't know how.
If he is a wild animal, no matter how well trained he is, one day he'll get tired of having a human around.

Yes, you can buy them as pets. I used to live in Alabama and we had one. They've got really soft bellies, but when you try to pick them up they roll into a ball with their spikes out and make this weird popping / growling noise. They're really cute - though not recommended for children.

Not usually, but where did you get him? If you brought him in from the wild, then yes, (unless he was injured). In that case, I would release him.
Otherwise, no. They do sell pet hedgehogs in our local pet shops. They are very friendly and very trainable. =)

depends what you've trained him in, if its martial arts i don't think thats fair, he might not want to fight. I recommend taking him for a drive and lettign him go into the night, he;ll be the king of the road.
Its gonna be difficult to stroke him though or go for walks so you gotta think about what your getting in return.

He'll be good as a pest controller. Slugs and snails, are a speciality.
