I have a big issue that's been bothering me for about a year now. I'm 15 years old, am 5'1", have a 28 inch waist, and a set of DDD breasts. The "wonderful" trait I inherited from my great-grandmother. However, I'm finding that if I stand or sit too long, my back will start to KILL ME. I'm talking about serious pain here, people.
I'm almost positive that it's the extra weight, because my back has already been checked for sculiosis(sp?) and such. What can I do? Is there any possible way for me to get a reduction at this age?
All answers are appreciated.

You COULD get a reduction at this age, BUT if you are not done growing you might need another breast reduction in the future. IMO I would wait until you are 19 or 20 and have your health insurance cover your breast reduction.
In the meantime, try some minimizer bras. http://www.justmysize.com has some good bras that help support heavy breasts.
Also, since 80% of women are in the wrong size bra, I would go get sized at JCPenney or Nordstroms (NOT Victoria secret as they size you wrong).
Someone mentioned scarring. I am over one year post op and my scars are 95% gone! After your incisions close you can start using lotions and creams on them to lighten and soften the scars (Mederma and ScarGuard are excellent choices).
Also check out this site: http://www.breasthealthonline.com their breast reduction support forums are excellent help.

ABSOLUTELY!!!! If your breasts are causing you that much pain and discomfort there should be no reason why you can not have a reduction. As long as your parents give consent to the surgery.....it should not be a problem. Triple D breasts are pretty big for someone your size and age. I would definitely talk with your parents and make an appt w/ a plastic surgeon. They can guide you in whatever decisions need to be made!!
In the meantime though.......are you wearing the proper bra's??? Good support??? Lane Bryant sells really nice bra's that are very comfortable and stylish, while offering the proper support you need!! That's where I get mine and I'm a 40 DD.
Good luck to ya sweetie!!!!!

My sister-in-law had a breast reduction at the age of 16 for the same reason. She was in miserable pain. Her bra straps would cut into her, her back hurt constantly, let alone the teasing over something that just in no way is funny whatsoever. So, yes, it is possible. You just need to find a surgeon that will do it. The sooner the better before your pain turns chronic. Best of luck sweetie! pammi

I'm not sure, but you may have to wait until you're 16 to get a breast reduction.
In the meantime, make appointments with 2 or 3 plastic surgeons. You may not feel comfortable with the first one. At your age, you need a Doctor that is sensitive to your situation and will treat you with the utmost respect and compassion. Do not settle for a Dr that is not respectful. Keep in mind that breast reductions cause tremendous scarring, but it may very well be worth it to you to be pain free. Good luck to you.

Honey I feel for you, off course its painful and it will take a toll on your back. You are definitely a candidate for breast reduction. Ask mum to check with your physician and health insurance company, this isn't for cosmetic reasons this is medical reasons, which are detrimental to your emotional, physical, emotional and social well being. In the mean time wear support bras and a back support. Good luck

Ahh, the old double standard, a curse of pain and the blessing of having an awesome rack. You just cannot win. I have had guys that were hung complain about the problems associated with it and ones with micros wish they were bigger. You may be young, but I think you can get them reduced with parental consent.

It wouldnt be good because you still going to be growing for about 3 more years at the age of 18 would be more preferable.

If it's causing you a lot of pain, then defiantly talk to your parents and doctor about getting a reduction.
