Compared to college BBall, no sport is more exciting(except maybe college football) I find NBA games boring unless my team is playing. I can watch pretty much any college teams play.

NBA is for money, College is for glory.

Oh and Prashant, there is no comparison between NBA finals and the NCAA tournament. The Big Dance blows the finals out of the water when it comes to excitement.

Because the players are so much better that they make the game look easy. College basketball seems more exciting because it is so unpredictable.

Also, a long college season is something like 36 games. That's not even half of an NBA season. The NBA players can't get "psyched up" for the games as much as the college players - the season is simply too long and too many games for that.

This is obviously a loaded question but isn't a complete one. College ball definitely has a more intensity during the regular season and even postseason because each game has some meaning. Be it a rivalry, or a single elimination tournament matchup, it has meaning. The NBA doesn't have that intensity, but the players are all better. It is exciting to watch the athleticism, spectacular passes and dunks, big powerful guys shoving off of each other. So as far as showmanship goes, the NBA wins hands down. But as far as emotion goes, and intensity college basketball takes the cake.

In the minds of many fans, the choice is college basketball every time. College basketball wins the hearts of avid roundball fans with its intensity, heart, and a great playoff system.

So what is it that ruins the NBA? It’s money, the root of all evil. In a game where passion and energy win just as many games as talent, it’s difficult for NBA players to gather the emotions every night on the long road of the 82 game pro season. It’s not that players don’t want care, it’s simply that caring isn’t a necessity in the NBA. For NBA players, the paychecks come regardless of wins. With college players, money is out of the equation. When they hit the floor every night for a 30 game season, they are full court press, pedal-to-the-metal warriors for 40 minutes. When college players play, the only thing in their mind is the championship. The NBA has lost sight of such an outrageous concept.

Ummm the intensity in the nba playoffs cannot be matched by college basketball.

But in the regular season, college basketball is defnitely exciting. These guys playing for a life...for a career. They're being scouted each and every single minute. If you're in the nba, you're earning a gazillion dollars, you're a pro, you can't go higher than that. The intensity is not there during the regular season since they basically have nothin to play for

Most of the people that find it boring, think of it as boring because they believe that the players are only playing for the money, unlike in college where the players are playing for the love of the game. However the actual game in the NBA is much more excting. Awesome dunks, sweet 3 pointers, alley oops. But once March Madness comes around, it's college basketball all the time.

The people that say the NBA is more exciting, are not really TRUE basketball fans. The NBA has become so boring, its pitiful.

Teams don't run anymore. The fast break has become almost non-existant. The players lack fundamentals, and don't understand the game. They can't hit a jumpshot over 10 feet or make a free throw to save their lives.

The game has become a boring, half-court , "hold the ball for 15 seconds", and either try for a dunk or jack up a three. All in the effort to make the Sportscenter highlights.

And there's way to many teams in today's watered-down league. Each team has one superstar and a bunch of mediocre players.

The NCAA is way more exciting.

College players can be flat as well - look at DJ Strawberry from Maryland. He spent 3.5 years coasting until the team started 2-6 in the ACC. Strawberry as a Senior caught fire and now UMD is back towards the top of the ACC standings with a good chance at a Top 5 seeding in some tournament bracket.

NBA ball is boring because the sport has been dominated by one-dimensional stars like Shaq and LeBron - leaving role players out in the cold. Plus, you have thugs like Iverson and Mello who are loose cannons - hard to cheer for a loose cannon. The International players have improved the situation but the "thug first" attitude persists.

With college you're rooting for some young fellas to have some fun and win.

With the NBA you're rooting for guys that could buy your entire town---I don't think they really need you for anything.

There are also fewer college games--making them more meaningful.

Different college stars every 2-3 years, as well. The NBA has the same stars for a decade or two--get's old.

I think because the NBA doesn't really have a purpose except for entertainment. The players don't really have anything to work towards. College plays because of rivalry betwean schools, and the players want to make it big. Also the crowds are more into the teams and the competition, and I think they get more riled up, blindly sometimes.
