The folks who said to buy a smaller lobster are 'mostly' right . But here's the real deal . When buying lobster, seek out 'cold water' lobster as opposed to 'warm water' . Lobster that has lived in colder waters are sweeter and more succulent than their warm water buddies, which tend to be slightly 'mushy' . Just ask when you're at the market, and if they don't know the difference, then don't buy it !!

At your local fish market, but a word of advise, you are better off with a couple of smaller tails than one big one, the bigger the tail the older the lobster is, and the younger lobster and more tender and taste better. Believe me I am a huge lobster fan, it's one of my favorite foods.
