First of all, did you ENTER a national Australian lottery? Are they requesting any personal info from you? Are they saying all you have to do is send x amount of dollars to claim your prize? Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it is.

First of all, did you buy an Australian lottery ticker? If not, how could you have won?
Secondly, if they are asking you for money for any reason, it's a scam. Don't send them any money.
Check with Urban Legends website. They have a file on such scams.

No it isn't true. People who send those e-mail are spamming you because someone see your screenname in a chat room and tries to con you. Just ignore it or send it in to your e-mail company as spam report. :)

Did you actually play lotto? If this is an email, it's most likely spam. I'd call up NAL and ask them.

its a SCAM!!!!!
we don't give away lottery tickets especially on the net etc & also if you didn't buy a ticket you didn't win
dont give any details to them or they will STEAL your MONEY or your IDENTITY
