Are you athletic at all? Maybe you can take up some new physical activities like biking, running, lifting, etc.... Have you ever tried paint balling? I know tons of people who have made that a hobby and they LOVE it! I personally like to read horror novels. Also, I am sure that your writing ability is still there. You are just having a writer's block. It happens to the best of us! I would keep trying your hand at writing occasionally because I am sure your creative juices will get flowing again. Maybe you can also take some music lessons. Guitar perhaps? Music will keep you busy and allow you to tap into more creativity.

you don't have to be great at something to enjoy doing it. Draw anyway, I love to draw, I can't think of anything I'd rather do and the struggle to achieve more and more ability is part of it's appeal. Keep writing if it makes you happy. Draw anyway even if your not that good. The more you draw the better you'll get.
Conceptart.com is one of my favorite sites for inspiration, there are alot of really tallented people who are willing to offer their advice if you post your work. Also Elfwood and Fantasity.com are some fun communites where you don't have to be a great writer or artist to contribute. If your really frustrated with drawing and panting, there's still sculpture, collage, scrapbooking, sewing, knitting. a million artistic outlits that you can try. if you don't like oil paint there's acrylic or gouache or watercolor.
Don't give up on what you enjoy, try new things and do what appeals to you. Who cares if your the greatest or the worst as long as your enjoying what you do.

I like to write too and personally speaking when I dont have much going on in life I dont have alot to go on. When my creative juices dont seem to be flowing I just try to enjoy the other aspects of life like adventure, friends, family, love, ....well you get the drift. Then when I least expect it I have alot to write about, its not necessarily about those experiences but when you get your head away from the writers block you can come back with a fresh mind. If you try to hard it is not going to be natural so just step back, take a breath, and your talent will soon reappear. If you feel you have to know what your talent is like writing, painting, drawing, or being artistic all your life well you are dead wrong. Most adults dont really know what their "nack" in life is. So jsut enjoy it while your here and do the things that make you happy.
Happy Huntings

drug?????? I don't understand what a new drug has to do with your explanation of your need.
Do you mean that you need something to make you feel good, and accomplished.
If that is so, then use your writing skills to write poetry, it does not necessarily have to rhyme. It just has to have feeling. You sound like a very deep person, with allot of emotion.
Not only is it artistic, but you will gain allot of pleasure, and feelings up accomplishment.
Or how about, short stories. Whether it be for teens, or children.
Submit them to magazines, or publishers. Even if you are rejected at first, in time someone will find value in your writings.
I have very good writing skills, and I have written many poems. There is a website that does accept amature poetry. A long while back I sent them one of my poems, and they published it. I sent it to them just as a lark, but it was accepted.

Seems like you've got a couple of great answers already. One thing I can suggest is to get involved with the local animal shelter. There is nothing so rewarding as caring for an animal that no one seems to want. And the love in those creatures eyes is priceless. Volunteers are always needed. There is a sad side to it too, but well worth your time.

Well you said it used to be writing. Keep in mind that even very good writers have occasionally writers block.
With everything you do and learn, there is a period in which you feel to be stuck. This is actually a point of growth. Keep on doing it, and you will see that you will get to a new level.
If you keep your focus on something that you like to do, you will get better by it, even if you have moments on which you have high doubts.
Just persist!
