I'm only 17 and don't plan on having a baby anytime soon. I was listening to the song Kashmir (so, she wouldn't be named after cloth but a Led Zeppelin song) and somebody told me they wanted to name their little girl that. Just wondering what other people thought...I kind of liked it.

I think it's a gorgeous name! It's very different and you will get a lot of compliments. My daughter has a different name (Emerson) and people always want to know where and how i came up with it. Its a real talking point.
I named her Emerson Rose because it means strength and powerful, just the sort of woman i want her to grow up to be!
Great choice, love it!

Being unique with a first name may sometimes cause your child problems when they have to correct people spelling or saying her or his name all the time. Also remember that other children will tease your child with an extremely unique name or one that means something "they" might consider funny. Have fun with the middle name. The middle name maybe the perfect spot for that unique name you've been thinking of!

Kashmir is a pretty name for middle eastern people. Being middle eastern myself, its beautiful. Some people at school might have trouble pronoucing is, but they'll think of cute little names for her.

Well when you have a child it would be your choice and yo0ur child would have to live with the name, I mean think of the name Faith what kind of name is that?

Beautiful name for a girl.I read that it's a historical place somewhere in Pakistan&India.Robert Plant's wife was Middle-Eastern.Cool.
