I am trying out for my school's show choir in april or may, and i need to find an up beat song that is good for an alto. or maybe a low saprano. Please no country unless it is a really good song. So far my teacher and i have Any man of mine a good song for me! And what else can i do to prepare for the tryouts. Any voice exercises to make it better. All the help would be much appreciated. And i would prefer a song by a girl. I really want to make show choir. Right now there are about 50 people in it and next school year there will be 24 in it so 12 girls. I think it is going to be some hard competition. I need to show him that i can do this. Any suggestions! Should i get into the song when i sing it for him or what. Thanks

Here goes, pick a song you really love, something up-beat, something that will get the audience and judges attention, sing your heart out, sing like there is no tomorrow, grab their attention, and yes, get into the song, the beat, but, don't over do it, when I was young and tried out for majorette, I was the one person in the world noone would think had the guts to get out there and do, and thanks to my friends who were already majorettes they taught me all the basics, but, I had to come up with my own routine, and music, and I picked, "Celebration" the judges who were my teachers, and other's dropped their mouth when I this sweet shy girl all the teachers loved, but, knew how shy I was, and when I got out there I didn't think about it, I just did it, and practiced and just let it come or fall, no pun intended, lol, but, I blew them away, and made the team, turned my life around, I became popular, began taking part in my looks, and every guy wanted me, and still when people I went to school with today, write on reunion, remember me, coming out in my senior year, becoming a model, but, I still kept respect from other's, and was still the shy girl noone really new existed inside, but, it changed my entire world...and now I'm in my early 40's and still have my looks and could pass for my early thirties, no lines, still considered beautiful, inside and out....and also, that year, I went out for Junior Miss and got into the finals, believe it or not...there are all kinds of songs, if you want to im or email me, I can tell and help you more...goood luck...and believe in yourself, and you will make it...
