Try Maple Story. People will tell you it's got a lot of hackers, but they're easy to avoid by just going to a different page, so I don't know why people complain about them. Anyway, it's 2-D scrolling game, free.
You can pick one of four beginning careers: bowman, warrior, magician, and thief. It's slow in the beginning bc there's like a tutorial stage where you learn basics. After that though, it only gets better and better as you advance, the more you can do.
Anyway, you can download it by going to nexon.net and clicking Maple Story. You have to register and create an account then they will send you a verification code then you're all set!

if you like fps (first person shooter) i would recomend counter-strike.. if you like rpgs (roleplaying games) diablo 2 is fun
and if u like mmo (games with tons of ppl in them) world of warcraft is good and strategy games i would reccomend the latest command and conquer or lord of the rings battle for middle earth 2

Id suggest you try Runescape because its great and its free unless you want be a member which is like $6 dollars a month and its great so try and u will get addicted to it.
