Charlie Watts' OTHER band is "Charlie Watts and the Tentet". Outside of his Stones' work, Watts has headed up bands of his own ever since 1985, when he formed a big band. In 1991, Watts founded The Charlie Watts quintet, a jazz band that released a number of recordings, particularly tributes to long-time Watts' fave Charlie Parker. Watts has also worked with drummer Jim Keltner on a project called The Charlie Watts/ Jim Keltner Project, and released a 2004 CD called Watts at Scott's, featuring the Tentet's take on classic Duke Ellington and Thelonius Monk works.
