Let it grow in It will be healed within days.
Most reputable piercers insist on a hoop first because it is easier to heal then the piercee moves on to studs within a few weeks. This way you can rotate it properly for healing, very necessary in any piercing. A professional piercer should show you exactly where it goes before he does it. They also prefer the needle to the gun for accuracy and the power behind a gun can cause damage to that delicate area of the face. This is why they are professional.
By the way, a hoop in a woman's nose, in many countries means she is married and/or quite subservient, possibly a slave. A stud merely denotes marital status and is an honoured thing to have.
A needle is the preferred way to pierce. I am sorry you chose a lousy piercer. My daughter did too and they had to cut the stud out of her tongue. It sounds much worse than it was but it should not have been necessary. I will add here this warning.
Research a piercer first. Ask for a personal referral from someone you see with a piercing. THEN, and this is very important, make sure he uses TOP QUALITY fittings for you. I had an infection in one for TWO years despite doing everything recommended time and again by the doofus who did it. When the doc said pull it, I went to another piercer and he changed fittings and I never had a problem. Cheap jewellery has cracks you can only see with a microscope and in those cracks lie the crud that keeps infections going.
Guns are used usually in beauty parlours and drug stores selling pierced jewellery. Just phone around.
When my jock daughter got her nose pierced she had to remove the stud 4 times a week for games and practices. Of course this is only sensible. I have a thousand memories of her repiercing her nose in the back seat as we drove home! Sometimes it was easy, other times,.... not so much. She is 26 and still has it.
Personally, I like my piercings hidden. Other than my ears of course. But that is just me. Good luck.

Firstly, let the current one heal. (It takes a VERY short time to heal; at least it did for my sister.). My sister used a needle as well, and she sait it pained like heck. If you can't handle the needle, then DO NOT re-do it with a needle. Try the gun this time, and yes, I've seen people getting their noses pierced at malls. Doesn't take but less than 2 seconds, even. But whoever is doing it this time, be sure they know what they're doing, ok?
Good luck, and don't be scared if it's something you REALLY wanna do!

Never get something as sensitive as your nose pierced with a gun. As a matter of fact getting anything pierced with the gun can cause many complications. Using a needle is standard, may be a bit more painful, but risk of infection is very low. Maybe next time you should try a different piercer, and have them let you mark where exactly you want it pierced.

Any reputable beauty salon will pierce your nose with a gun! Realy ease, minimal pain and the piercing will be as far down your nose as you want as the operative will mark the position with marker pen until you get the right position. Happy piercing.

Wait for it to heal and then go to a jewellers instead of a piercing parlour and they should do it with a gun. I had mine done with a gun and it was over really quickly. You just have to try to stop yourself from jumping. Have the man/woman doing it push down on your head to stop this or it will end up wonky or ripping.

Why go through all that pain just for a hoop in your nose? Trust me, sooner or later, you'll hate the hoop.
