A. Should I add critical reading and math together to get my total score? B. Or should i also add my writing score?

If i do A. I'll get only 1100. But if i also add B. I'll get 1600. Its a big difference. I can't find the answer anywhere.
Please help!

The math and critical reading are the primary scores at which colleges will look in considering whether or not to accept you as a student. And your 1100 will get you into a great many schools. If you believe that you can do better and improve your score, then do so. But be warned - colleges will only look at your most recent SAT score.

The Writing section was added in 2005, so to compare your results to SAT scores scored BEFORE 2005, you add only Critical Reading and Math together. To compare your results to SAT scores scored AFTER or IN 2005, add all three sections together.

However, most colleges do not look at your composite, or total, scores, but rather your individual sectional scores.

Hope this helped!

Most colleges ask for the scores seperately- out of 800. But when adding your total score, add all 3 sections so it's out of 2400.

well nowadays the sat score counts out of 2400 points..not 1600 (*as the perfect score*)..so you should add reading/writing/and math all together to get ur total score of 1600 out of a possible 2400 pts. :)
