Hi! I am sort of a lousy swimmer (always have been despite taking classes), but I enjoy swimming using flippers on my feet. Is this still good exercise? Thanks!

Using fins can actually significantly increase your leg strength while swimming. But I would advise you to not do a full workout with fins because they will ruin your feet if you don't wear a protective layer for them and your leg muscles will also become very tired over time from extensive use.

It is still good, but you should still work hard even with them on. I use flippers all the time but I find it better when I ballance out swimming with flippers with without. Just swim hard!

Yes, it will still be great exercise. I can't really swim, can't keep my self up and have no coordination, so I love swimming with flippers too!! You will still get awesome exercise with them, because they aren't doing the work for you.

yea its even better exercise with flippers cuz its harder to kick ur feet with flippers on cuz they make ur feet so big and heavy. its good exercise but try to swim without them also

Yes! Swiming always good exercise w/ or w/o flippers. Fun too

flippers just make your kick straight and stronger, you still get the same exercise, but probably more, because you are working hard to keep your legs kicking fast.

It still is good because the flippers add weight, so sometimes it is harder with them...

yea thats still good exercise. you use more energy, but go farther with flippers.

yes it is, in fact, it is even better for your leg muscles if you use fins due to the large amounts of lactic acid that flippers build up in your legs.
