Research your baby care products before you use them as infant skin is extremely sensitive. Many baby care products (including lotions) contain mineral oil, the molecular structure of which is too large to penetrate the pores of our skin, sitting on the top layer like saran wrap. These products get wiped off over time and give little to no benefit but rather a temporary feeling of softness. Babys need water based product that will penetrate their skin and deeply condition and hydrate with the proper ingredients. Arbonne has a great baby care line that is botanically-based and pH correct, pediatrician and dermatologist tested, non-sensitizing, non-irritating, and formulated without nut oils. They are formulated with natural ingredients like oat flour which is an emollient and an emulsifier. It’s highly absorbent and hypoallergenic. Oat flour helps to soothe and soften dry, itchy and sensitive skin. I think that it's best to try a product first to ensure that's it's beneficial before spending your money. If you're interested in trying a free sample and learning more, I'll be happy to help you.

shouldn't be a problem, just no where near her face. Try just a little on her foot to make sure there is no reaction, wait a few days then you can put more on. Just don't use any thing with soothing vapors in it until she is a little older. Winter is probably the only time you will need it because of the dry air. If the air is not dry where you live, I wouldn't waste my time.

I have never heard this. I'm sure it will be fine for you to put baby lotion on your baby. Of course if she was to break out afterwards stop but I don't see why you can't or why they'd tell you not to.

I have never heard this and I spent my fair share of time at the doctor's office when my daughter was born. I use Johnson's Soothing Naturals. My daughter has eczema and that seems to be the gentlest one of them all, including Aveeno. Don't use baby powder though, there is a link between baby powder an ovarian cancer.

Use olive oil or vaseline. Commercial baby lotions are full of nasty stuff that you wouldn't put on your baby if you really knew what it was.
Particularly as anything you put on a baby is going to end up in their mouth or their eyes eventually.

Honestly, I never listened to that recommendation. With all three of my kids I used body cream THAT I PURCHASED IN A HEALTH FOOD STORE, somewhere like Whole Foods or Wild Oats.
