There is this guy at school, Brandon, who was dating my my best friend, Sarah. During that time, me and him started to become friends. Sarah did not like him as much, but I started to. After they broke up, I liked him even more. We became better friends, and I was thinking about asking him to go out with me. Then, my other best friend, Darcy, told me that she liked him. She did not know that I did also. That weekend, her and Brandon started dating. During that time, Brandon and I became really good friends. I also became madly in love with him. He was all I could think about. I eventually told Darcy and she is alright with it. The only problem is that I want them to be happy. The more I try to only like Brandon as a friend, the more I like him. I need to know of a way that I can stop thinking about him, but still stay friends.

Hi. Happy Sabbath. ...Aw! How hard 4 u. I think the best thing u can do is pray about respecting both of your friends' bf/gf relationship. As u keep respecting the relationship (although it privately hurts), u can keep things in proper prospectives. No, it might not b easy, but it is do-able. If both parties are friends of yours, those friendships should b worth keeping.
By the way, I'm sorry about the timing. U were about to let your male friend know how u felt, but your other friend unknowingly "beat u 2 the punch" (ole school Motown--Mary Wells).
U can also try keeping constructively busy, etc. However, u don't want to be in any type of rebound relationships. Those r never good bc the foundations r always weak.
It's hoped things will improve 4 you. Take care. (Plz don't listen to any negative answers from folks who would make light of this bc this is a very important issue for u at this age & time. You deserve 2 b respected.) It's hoped this helps.

Hmm...you need to put that energy some where else. Get a bunch of girlfriends together and just hang out. No talk of boys, just fun talk. Also, think of other guys that you might like that are single. You're young, so you won't die from not being with Brandon, if you and Brandon are really meant for each other, the time will come. Just don't tie your heart to him and lose faith, be out there.

I think you should tell him about it and see what happens, you say you formed a friendship so I don't think it would do any harm if you tell him about your feelings honestly. As for stopping loving him, forget about it,it won't work ,if anything allowing people to decide who they love had ever existed we'd know it for sure and 70% of songs, books and movies wouldn't have been made.
