Have you ever decorated something in your home thinking it would look fantastic, only to find that when you've done it, it looked crap?

Nope, I even converted my staircase, where the treads lift up, so shoes can be placed in them; Turned out great.

Some times that happens but I do not let it stop me from trying something else in the future..
Most of the time I like the project because I give lots of thought to it before I start.

Yes, but then perhaps it has to do with: a) doesn't quite look like it did in the mag, b) my space is much too small for the actual size (or color) of the item, c) my ambitions were too big, considering. It's sometimes a question of trial and error.
