Well, I hope you aren't getting it mail order because you'll never know what you bought until you get it. I know people who work at the gibson plant in nashville, and trust me not all gibsons are created equal. I've played a les paul studio that played and sounded better than a les paul supreme. Your best bet is to go somewhere you can actually play them and then decide. Thats the only way you're sure to be happy with whatever you buy.

See your first post... my answer there will help you make your decision. The answers here are personal preference guided and assume you really care about what you pay. If you really WANT the classic, then that's what you should get. It will have better resale value anyway. If, on the other hand, it's the lower price you're after, then check out the Epiphone Les Pauls for even better deals.

I had to shout for a expert picker pal of mine in this one. He thoroughly agrees with the physique of Hughe's answer. He has the two, yet previous love is the Fender Tellie. The Gibson LP is a heavier tool with a thick neck. The Strat is lighter with extra of a speed neck making it a swifter extra trouble-free play for many folk. back like Hughe, it incredibly is fairly very own decision. If that piece feels applicable and 'talks' to you - take it. it incredibly is applicable.

You get a Les Paul because of the fingerboard. If you can, feel which one feels the best.

Get the Standard. It's about $700.00 retail cheaper and is perfect for a musician. The Classic has different tuners and better pickups, but you probably won't notice them unless you are an expert.
