And then when you stop giving them what you want, they stop liking you? Or being nice?

I meant, give them what "they want" as the extended details

I can relate to your circumstances, i was going out with my ex partner and things were great but as you have pointed out they became more distant, i found myself doing things for them eg cancelling a dinner with my family because they wanted to go somewhere else and getting them things as they needed them right away. I did this for 2 1/2 years and wised up as my family were distancing themselves away from me - this was a real wake up call as i was madly in love with my partner and was blind to everything else! You could be in a relationship heading nowhere, and you can find someone else who will respect you for you! Good luck with your future plans!

Some people are needy and while some do it on purpose others do no even know about their poor behavior. My friend was very dependent on me for attention and when I started to seriously date some one she got very moody and started talking to me with random blasts of anger. I talked to her and called her on her moody blues ways and she apologized saying she didn't realize how dependent she was on me being there 24/7. My best suggestion is try talking to the person and call them on it, you may save your friendship or you may find their was no real friendship to begin with.

yes, I used to spend a ton of $$$ on my friend because she lost her job and I was trying to help her out and be there for her. This went on for 2 years. Then I found myself out of a job and where was she??? She told me that she couldn't handle my situation and to call her when I found another job and was in a better mood. I told her I was not interested in being friends with a self centered little witch like her.

I'm sorry to hear that you had a relationship like that. I've never had one. I consider myself to be a good judge of people, if i found out someone's taking advantage of me first, i'd break his legs, second, never see him again.

Yes. The girl at the drive-thru never gives me my Big Mac until I give her money. She knows I want that Big Mac. She's taking me for everything in my wallet.

that is not a friendship or relationship that is you being used, and that can only happen if you allow it to happen, so the problem is you. not who you think.

Yes! I hate that! Either they're not thinking about how they come across, or they're just jerks. To find out, why don't you tell them how they make you feel, and see what they do?
