I only have 16 colors listed in my computer under settings. I believe I had a lot more. All my pictures on my compter have dots and lines in them. Everytime I type a letter, the computer screen blinks. I've tried rebooting and doing the whole F8 thing and it didn't work. I also downloaded Driver Genius with no help from that either. I'm having problems with the internet also. Is it a virus or something with my drives? My boyfriend recently deleted some things and I don't know if he accidentaly deleted something for the colors and graphics. Help!

Sounds like the graphics driver is no longer there. If you havent changed the graphics card, go to the mfgs site of your PC and download the driver. If you have added a card, you can get the driver from their website.

you need to do some serious virus scanning, but aside from that you need to find out what your graphics card is (or do you have the driver disk from your computer?) and reinstall the driver, it doesn't matter what the driver program you downloaded said...

OK right click on the my computer icon, select properties
click on the hardware tab, select device manager.
find the display adapter click the (+) to show your adapter, right click on your adapter and select properties. this will tell you what your graphics card is, now select update driver, some times that works sometimes not (let it access the Internet to find update) if that doesn't work, then go to the manufactures website and find the correct driver for your graphics card.

if all else fails you might have to reformat. lets hope not, though it isn't hard you lose all of your data.

You need to go in device manager. Right click My Computer, click on Properties, then the hardware tab, and you should see the device manager button. Open that up. Look at the list that comes up for any yellow ! exclamation marks. If there are any, you need to download the latest driver or reinstall from the driver cd. However if you don't see any exclamation marks, right click anywhere on your desktop that is not an icon or task bar, click properties, then the settings tab. There you can try to adjust it back and hit apply. Hope that helps. The girl below me totally ripped off my answer.

You probably only have basic graphics drivers installed for you graphics card (16 color). You have to find out what card you have a get the driver specific for that card. go to Start | Settings | Control Panel | System. Click on the Hardware tab and click the Device Manager button. Find your video/graphics card and right-click and uninstall it. Now to to Action in the menu on the same screen and select Scan for Hardware Changes. See if it installs a different driver for your video card.
