I try to move it across the screen and the pointer just flies back, or even further from where I want it to go. As soon as I let go of the pad, the pointer flicks back across the screen. It also jumps as soon as I touch the pad, without even moving it anywhere. Why does my laptop disagree with me!? Any tips to stop this from happening?

You may have an auto snap feature enabled in your mouse properties. Open your mouse in control panel and tic the motion tab.

Certainly, if you mentioned having a DELL, that would explain it. But you didn't, so I won't digress.

When this happens, and you require accuracy with your mouse, the PLUG IN a mouse.

But I would try:
- using a pointer, pick a plastic thing and give it a GO.

Good luck and Happy Computing!
