Whose your role model and why?

my role model is tyra banks. i can't say why. there r so many reasons, but i've liked her 4 a while now. u nevr see heron drugs, doing stupid things, in rehap, smoing, partying, and her shows really insprational.

Abraham Lincoln.

He accomplished great things by his own effort, persistence, and shear will. He was handicapped by his poor background, not enjoying the privileges many others enjoyed. Nonetheless, he taugh himself about government and eventually the law, which he went on to practice very successfully.

He had unbreakable integrity and an eloquence that arguably cannot be matched.

He reached great levels of influence and power without sacrificing others to achieve that.

Greatest man who ever lived.

Mine is also Tyra Banks. I absolutely love her and think she is an amazing person! I love what she is doing with America's Next Top Model by adding plus size models to the show. She is setting such an awesome example for so many girls and women alike.

She is a good inspiration for girls on some levels. With so many poor models these days, it is very good to have a wholesome young woman in the forefront. But she ain't no Oprah when it comes to intellectual depth.

However, you might want to branch out and look for inspirational women who contribute more to society. This is where I would say if I was into role models I would choose Oprah. This woman was raised dirt poor, raped and forbidden to read. Against these horrific odds she has become one of the great women of our age.

She sets a good example also to the women of the world. Black women do not have good representation in the media. Most times they are seen as low or sexual beings. Tyra and Oprah change that impression by being inspirational and successful black women in charge of their lives. This has to be a good thing for young black women who have few positive roll models.

Both of them are very open with physical issues. I like that Tyra even has a plus size section in her fashion lines. Not all black beauties are meant to be skinny. Tyra has been slim but somehow still built like a true woman with curves. Oprah has been working in the opposite direction inspiring larger people to become healthier and more accepting of themselves as they are.

One thing, dear. You do not love someone for what they do NOT do that is only common sense, IE drugs etc you compliment them for what they ARE and what they do. If everyone used that mindset you could say, "I loved Hitler because he was a vegetarian and pet small puppies." Your point is taken though. Her behaviour has set a good standard. Tyra is smart, she knew doing those things would kill her career and avoided them. She is also gifted in having a strong mother with whom she has a wonderful relationship.


BTW I chose my model from tv only.

If I could cover the span of history I would choose Khadijah the first wife of the Prophet (pbuh). She was a supportive and good wife to this man. Through her support, he was free to bring the true Islam (as it originally was intended) to the world. The Prophet loved her deeply. I even adapted her name for my Muslim name I respect her so much.

Right now: model Lily Cole

She's gorgous,skinny but not skelital, a straigt A student at Cambrige, is playing Alice in Marilyn Manson's new movie, and is gorgous(I know I said that already).

Freddie Mercury because he went out and made music that people loved and he was a fantastic showman. He had his problems but he was a gifted songwriter and showman. I also loved how he faced AIDS with dignity and bravery and even made videos when he was dying. I love him and always will.

tyra banks because she is such a good person and she helps other women's who need her help. You also don't see here partying nor using drugs like other celebs. She is also beautiful.
