On the show 2057 on Discovery Channel they said in the next 50 years flying cars will be available. They are already being worked on now, but sustained, controlled takeoff is a problem.

for a diehard car fan id like to say no but they will and there are some prototype ones made now.new laws will be made though as now aircraft(they would have to fall in that catagory then) cant fly below 1000 feet in populated areas and 500 in non populated. i wont be flying/driving them im ascared of heights!!!!!

There are, and have been prototypes of flying cars. What would
it be like ?, Just think of the traffic on our highways today and some
of the dumb/weird things that happen there. Now put all these folks
in something that flies without a marked lane to hold 'em in ----
shiver to think...................

Yes. I believe that there will be special magnetic tracks that keep you hovering on the same "road".

i guess it wouldnt happen, coz we would have to change our total infrastructure in every city....
PROBABLY IF we conquer the moon or anyday the mars, then we can start with an adequat infratructure.... but dont wait to check that....
