There's been a number of court cases that US women have brought trying to get access to combat roles in the US military...until the people running this country or the US courts or the US president allows women into combat roles, why bother fighting for the right to register for the draft or to be drafted? Based on current laws, women would be stuck in support roles like they are now, if they were drafted. If there is a draft, I think both men and women should be drafted for all roles in the military including combat. A few countries allow women in all military positions, but many still try to "protect" women from combat. I think if a country wants a war, they should watch both men and women dying for their country. Anything less is sexism at its worst.

Ok, I could go with 1 of the the historical reasons which is that if a society is almost wiped out, it would take more women then men to replenish it in a timely manner since women can only reproduce once a year vs men once an hour or so (just kidding guys!) I know thats not what you meant (but it is true)
Even tho there is no draft, dont boys still have to register at 18? Im not sure on that.
Todays American military is all volunteer. Even if it wasn't, I think most women would have a much harder time with the after effects of war. (I said MOST)
Men have always been raised to be "tough". Boy toys are even made to be "tough". How many little girls blow up Barbie with fireworks? I don't think they make fatigues for her either.
I do think that if the draft came back, many women would enlist because they can't be drafted. I don't know tho, i'm just guessing.
And just for the record, I don't believe in the ERA. And I am a woman.

The last draft was at a time when women's equality was nonexistent. If there was a draft now, which I can't see happening, it would likely be determined by other, more concise factors.
But men are better cut out for a thing like war anyway, and statistically, most women are not as strong as the average man.

Yeah really, equal right to get maimed or killed.
I think they're okay with the current set-up because it's primarily the men getting killed.
I don't approve of a draft at all because it's involuntary servitude.

Its normal human behaviour to only try to achieve what is good for you. Who woul actievly try to enforce something which is bad for himself.
Besides if our democratic system is at risk and war the only way to protect it i might consider giving in to the draft, but if there will be women around life ammunition iam so outta here. They can prove how much better women are then.

Hellloooooooooooo. Nobody is being drafted. If this were to happen I would be marching with the rest of the women demanding an end to a war that is senseless. These women see this as a senseless act of aggression where their children are being sacrificed for nothing. Deja vu Vietnam.

"Failure is not an option." (GI JANE) - Women aren't promoted to General either. It all balences one way or another.
"C.O. Salem: Welcome to C.R.T. selection program. You have volunteered for the most intensive military training known to man. Many of you are already specialists in your respective services: Navy SEALs, Army Demolitions, Naval intelligence. Despite your expertise, many of you will not successfully negotiate this program. Those of you that do will face an operational tempo that exceeds that of any other component of the U.S. arsenal. That is the limit of the "special" nature of this program. I now turn you over to my Command Master Chief, John James Urgayle.
----------
*Sen. Lillian DeHaven: Did you just mouth off to a senior member of the Senate Arms Committee? I mean, I'll give you points for style, just nothin' for smarts!
----------
*Sen. Lillian DeHaven: Whoa, whoa, whoa, Mr. Hayes. If a cannibal used a knife and fork, would you call that progress too?
---------------
*Lt. Jordan O'Neil (GI JANE): You were given the Navy Cross right? May I ask what you got it for?
Master Chief John Urgayle: Since it bears on this conversation, I got it for pulling a 250-pound man out of a burning tank.
Lt. Jordan O'Neil (GI JANE): So stopping to save a man makes you a hero, but if a man stops to help a woman, he's gone soft?
Master Chief John Urgayle: Could you have pulled that man clear? Lieutenant, you couldn't even haul your own body weight out of the water today.
----------
Sgt. Cortez: Hey, O'Neil! I'd go to war with you any day!
-----------
The USA is not drafting. All military is voluntary for man & women. The N. Korean's draft their babe's into war. I saw footage of them marching in the cute pencil skirts.
Hmmm ... a whole army with PMS & Pistals ... God have mercy on the enemy.

In reality this equal right bill has given the man more freedoms and rights that were held by the woman. Ex. custody of a minor child was always given to the mother, men no longer feel obligated to have manners. Women are missing out on the niceties.

Because man-hating, illogical women only want the benefits of traditional male roles but not the responsibility that comes along with it.
I.E., Taking out the trash, Picking up the tab on a date, Asking a Man Out, Proposing to Men, Requesting to be part of the Military Draft, etc.
