I'm 16 and my friend who is 18 wants to take me to see reno 911, which of course is rated R. If he buys the tickets while I get the drinks or whatever and then I just go in with him, will that work? If we get caught what will happen? Can we choose another movie?

First of all if the theater you go to is going to enforce the r ruling you will still not get in under your soda idea because in order to buy sodas you need to get into the theater n order to get into a theater you have to get through the doors and in order to do that you need a ticket. Why not just wait to rent the movie problem solved. I would hope you were raised with better morals than to truly try to break the rules. No generally they wont arrest you they can kick you out without a refund as for choosing another movie that would say they trusted you to go into a different theater and NOT SNEAK BACK TO RENO 911 after you have been caught doing just that. DO YOU NOT SEE THE BIG PICTURE.

All you gotta do is this: By a ticket for movie that ISNT R rated that showing at the same time Reno 911 is showing. Simple as that

i thought it was 21 or older.. but sometimes depeding on who is working the box office they let you in R movies as long as your along 16 and so for.. but im sure they will let you in.. if its a young guy or girl they sholdnt not care.

or just buy the ticket for another movie that you can see and when you walk in.. go to the reno 911.. thats if they take your ticket when you first walk in.. like at most movie theatres over here.

Definitely have the 18-year-old buy the tickets without you being there. I can't picture a theater that allows people to enter without a ticket unless it's to use their restrooms.

Be careful about where you go to see this movie. Regal Cinemas has this lame policy where you have to be 21 in order to buy more than one R-rated ticket (at least in CA it was...or that one location).

Seeing the manager isn't going to help because of liability. If word gets out that the manager let you see this movie because he wanted a customer, he's being negligent of the law. If it's a law to begin with.

All else fails, watch another movie.

Well he prob isn't allowed to buy tickets for other people unless he's 21. But you can just try and look old and maybe they won't check ID (a ton of places don't anyway). Worst case scenario they don't sell you a ticket, and yes you can choose another movie. But being a girl, I think the odds are in your favor to get in.
Sometimes cool adults will buy tickets for you, or, if there's two lines your friend can do each one once.

If you get caught its no biggy. Just try not to look guilty and walk past. If you're 16 im sure you can pull of looking 18. If they card you tell them you left it at home. And if you do end up getting kicked out of the movie just ask them if you can see another film.

Just get the 18 y/o to buy the tickets, and go to the movies, when they rip the tickets...if they ask how old you are...say you're 18, if he says I need to see I.D. tell him you don't have any, but that your friend does....if he still says you can't go....tell him that it's bullshit, and say you want to see the manager....I gaurentee you'll get in...

Too bad you don't live in Canada....U.S. R rated movies are PG13 over here...and even if it's still R...we don't care, lol.
