I don't know this Janet Pelosi but if she's inconsequential in her house it's because her husband isn't paying any attention to her.

I think part of the reason is the Democrats, at least the more liberal among them like Nancy Pelosi, mistook the November vote as mandate for a liberal agenda. They don't seem to understand that the country remains largely conservative. The vote was meant to send a message to change the way the Iraq War is being managed and get the corruption out of Washington.
But Pelosi has ignored the War and bungled her leadership role. From backing Murtha for Majority Leader to appointing Jefferson to the Homeland Security Committee despite his pending bribery and misconduct charges, Ms. Pelosi has failed to read the wishes of the people. Until she shows some real leadership and accomplishes something consequential, she will remain inconsequential herself.

Her name is Nancy. But as long as she tries to push through liberal left wing agendas she will be ineffective. Appointing a representative to the homeland security committee who is under investigation for bribery with 90K of marked bills in his freezer is reprehensible.

Because so many people don't even know her name! (And, once you do get to know her, you'll realize she's a hypocrite too. Did you know she tries to speak for the common people, yet owns multimillion dollar companies, including wineries that hire illegal immigrants to pick grapes for less than the minimum wage she gives lip service to).
