I thought he showed great comfort and sympathy. Bush bashers need not answer this.

I don't know if appreciate is the correct word, but I am thankful we live in a free country, have Bush for our president, and that we have a government who cares for the people and not just for their own gain.

I'm sure he was a comfort to many, and that many accepted his sympathy. I'm equally as sure that there are a number that would complain if he showed up and if he didn't show up, because in their world, whatever he does is wrong. Through their eyes of hatred, he was, is and will always be wrong. But, personally, I wish he could run for another term. But in the meantime, GO RUDY!

When a politician visits storm victims, it's good PR ... that doesn't mean, though, that he/she doesn't care about the victims. But in President Bush's case, with his seeming disregard for Hurricane Katrina victims, I think his trip to Alabama was ONLY about PR.

I live in New Orleans and I do not like Bush. He came here on Thursday afternoon; his 14th visit since the storm. I don't know why he bothers to come. It's all PR for him. Nothing really changes after he's been here. Nothing CAN change with him visiting or not. Having said that, though, he's done all he can really do. It's Congress and our beloved Grandma Governess and the MORONIC Mayor of the City who are F-ing us all over. All one has to do is look to Mississippi to see that things can move forward more quickly if you have intelligent people in the local and state government. But we don't, so who knows when we'll be finished?

In the end, Bush will be noted as one of our greatest presidents. I applaud his compassion for those in need here, and abroad. I can't understand the venom spewed by those on the far left. You don't see conservatives saying such hateful things about our liberal neighbors. I am certain that this "Bush bashing" must have a negative effect on our kids and their view of the best country in the world, the USA.

Bush is desperate to try and renew his fatally tarnished image. WHY wasn't he there to show comfort and sympathy to those poor people who lost everything during Hurricane Katrina? WHY does he ignore the plight of America's homeless, hungry, disadvantaged, poor, elderly, sick, underprivileged, unemployed and victims of corporate greed?
WHY has he not shown any comfort or compassion to those families of U.S. soldiers who have died in his unconstitutional and illegal 'war' in Iraq?
WHY does he not allow press coverage of the dead returning in body bags to Dover, Delaware?
The only thing you can appreciate about Bush's most recent pr gimmick is that it's consistent with all of his other non-actions and insensitivities to America's problems while he continues to 'lead' an immoral, unjustifiable 'war' that will put American taxpayers trillions of dollars in debt for generations to come.
George Bush and Dick Cheney are agents of Satan. For all the heinous crimes they have committed against humanity in their six years of power, they deserve to be tried in an international court or tribunal, and - if convicted - hanged just as they arranged for Saddam Hussein to hang for his crimes. -RKO-

I applaud him. He should have showed up earlier during Katrina too.

Sorry....with him it's all PR to try to do damage control for his dismal Katrina image. His FEMA Brown appointment will haunt him forever as it should.

He only did what was expected. To bad Hurricane Katrina had to bring that to his attention.
