I hear it all the time, "Why do I need to know how to spell? Computers have spell check." Yet, people do not know how to use this feature or cannot pick to right spelling when misspelled words do come up.

Technology is today's classroom is just another teaching tool. It is no more important than a textbook, a good novel, a desk, or a chair.

As an English teacher, I appreciate the role that the Internet serves with research skills.

Moreover, I have a document camera which I use to easily display student writings for discussion. Prior to having my document camera, I had to scan in essays or type them myself before I could use them in any discussion.
