i gotta virus that complely disabled my cd drive, dont tell me anything about checking the connections or going to device manager and all that other junk, my cd drive wont come up on my pc, if i go to my computer it jsut shows the local disk and the floppy drive, hope someone can help me, i used tons of virus scanners and none are finding the virus, should i format my hd?

Dont ask the question if you arent willing to accept the answer! You probably already checked connections, if your drive doesnt show during boot or doesnt open when you press the button, its junk! It probably wasnt a virus either! They dont last forever!

Stop with the drama, you ain't got a virus. Something's wrong with the cd drive, maybe the driver is corrupted or out of date. Get to the hardware devices and find out the status and at least update the driver.

I've had a drive not working for years and can't explain it, but it ain't a virus.

a cd drive cant react to a virus it just reads now its quite posible someone could disable it. check it go to properties in the cd drive and in sharing it should be a dot in shared and the share name should be E access type should be read-only and the password should be unchecked and blank. maybe somebody reset that so you couldnt blair yer puff daddy rap crap in the halls after hours LOL!
