step 1: DO NOT BRUSH!! a common mistake with wavy, curly, or thick hair is over brushing. Its OK to do a few strokes, but avoid closely spaced combs. Also avoid hair dryers.
step 2: use a leave in conditioner at night time. This will provide you with soft hair in the morning.
step 3: use a anti-frizz serum in the morning. this will eliminate most fly aways and soften your hair. For stubborn fly aways run a SMALL amount of gel through hair.
good luck!! :D

my hair is really frizzy too so i know just how you feel. what i do if i want to wear it down is use A LOT OF GEL (my cousin came up with this thing of using like, tons and tons of frizz-eaze, but it never worked for me). another thing i do is let it air dry, then use a scalp conditioner, work it through your hair, comb out any tangles, then twist it and leave it in a bun over night. in the morning it should be more manageable. i did it this morning, so i know it works.

Keep your ends trimmed every six weeks & condition daily. Pantene makes a great leave in conditioner in a spray bottle. Spray in & using a wide toothed comb, comb through the hair twice for even distribution. Refrain from using blow dryers as much as possible.

I am a brunette with long hair too. Get the ends of your hair trimmed and your hair will automatically look smoother on the ends and more even. Also try Aussie ( Purple bottle, kangaroo logo) Sydney smooth. You can get it at Wal-Mart and probably many drugstores. Good luck!
