Using registry cleaner can clean up your pc and then make your pc faster,Why?the reason is that there are some regsitry errors in your PC to cause "Computer slow".
Every time you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the pc registry. You need to scan and clean your PC with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Regisry Cleaner will improve your PC and Internet performance dramatically. It even can speed up your PC by 300% or more!

For Windows XP

Begin by first clicking on the Start Button.

Then move your mouse over the All Programs icon to display all Start Menu folders.

If your Start Menu is set to the Classic View, move your mouse over the Programs folder instead.

Now, move your mouse onto the Accessories menu folder until it expands.

Then move your mouse onto the System Tools menu folder until it expands.

Now Click on the Disk Defragmenter icon to launch the program.

Then use your mouse to highlight the drive that you want to Defragment?

Then click on the Defragment button located on the lower left hand center of the screen.

Windows XP will analyze your drive first and then display a visual estimate of the final results.

And Windows XP will continually show you a progress indicator bar depicting its progress.

When Windows is finished it will ask you if you would like to quit the Defrag Program.

Select YES to quit the Disk Defragmenter Program and then reboot your computer.

I don't see where adding parental controls would seriously slow down your computer. Please refer to my checklist for maintaining speed.

- Many users are not aware of how much RAM is used by wallpaper and/or a screensaver full of graphics. They run in the background and consume memory. (I have only 512mb RAM, run multiple programs simultaneously, and have set my wallpaper and screensaver to blank.)

I don’t do games, but I do know they are primarily graphics which need and use a lot of memory.

- How many programs do you load at startup? Maybe you should check it out and ensure you are running just what you need.
To do this: cl Start, cl Settings, cl Taskbar and Start Menu.
-cl Start Menu, cl Customize, cl Remove.
-cl the icon for the program you wish to remove
-then cl Remove.
-This will prevent the program from loading at startup, but will not remove the program from the hard disk.

-When you are working in a large file, save frequently to restore full memory access. (Your work remains in memory until you “save” it to disk.)

1.Did you run an error check? Open My Computer,
Right-cl on C:, Select Properties, Tools – Run an Error Check ( checkmark “check all and fix); then run a Defrag

2.Are you using Yahoo Toolbar? Run a full Norton Antispy.

3.From IE, click Tools, Internet Options
delete cookies
delete files (offline files)
clear history (set days to save to 0 if you want)
click o.k., and Restart

3.click Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools – run Disk Cleanup

4.click Start, Run ipconfig renew (type ipconfig space renew)

All these things should be done regularly. The more frequently they are run, the less time they take.
-Note: Games and videos are mostly graphics. Graphics create large files. If this doesn’t help, you should consider getting more memory.
-A good web site to visit: http://www.theonlinefamily.net/organize/spring_clean_computer/index.html

I strongly urge you to run Disk Cleanup, Scandisk, Error Check, defrag, etc. in Safe Mode. If you are not familiar with it:

Turn your PC on or Restart. As soon as you see the black and white screen, press and hold the F8 key. Continue holding until you see a black and white menu. Safe Mode is F3 or F5. From Start, Programs, run your AV program.

When it is finished, Restart. You will probably find your icons messed up. No biggee. Drag them back into place.

Click on start - my computer should see you hardrive right click scroll down to properties select disk clean after this go to tab with tools select disk check (should laways do this before defrag) will need to reboot. On reboot navigate to same place i.e start my computer right click properties tools defrag. Or use a free tool like cc cleaner and iobit smart defrag as this runs on the background and defrags when your computer is idle and you can chose manual or auto defrag.

Defrag is located in 2 different places.Click on your MY COMPUTER icon on your desk top.Next right click on local driveC Slect Tthe tools tab. What you want is right there. When you click on scan disk check the two boxes. The program will come on and tell you that it can't start right then.It will give you the option to run it next time that windows starts, click yes.You can also find it by going to acceriosies and clicking on system tools.Disk clean up is there as well.

I addition to these program I use these.

SPYWARE_ADDWARE

Spy ware and ad ware are sometimes brought into your PC on the cookies(Little bits of information that make it easy to go to sites the next time.)Sometimes you can get much worse things. The spy ware tracks your surfing habits so they can design pop ups and banners based on the information they send back to where ever it is that they came from.W hen you get a lot of spy ware it will slow down your PC. I use some free ware programs to get rid of them. You need to run these programs periodicity.

Best programs for a good running PC and are free, the first two get all the add ware when you them one at a time. They caught a key logger first time I used them. The last one on the list is my favorite it cleans all the junk files and a whole lot more .Zone alarm is about as good as it gets. This and yahoo security suit are all I use to keep my PC happy.De frag and scan disk also.
