Is it possible to make varsity baseball as a sr after not playing hs ball before? i was the last one cut soph yr, after the coach couldnt decide to keep me or not. he seemed to like me but said the vars coach didnt think i could make vars over some1 else, but he said he liked me as a fielder. now, that coach is on vars, but i wasnt a manager when i could have been that yr because i said i wasnt home over the summer, & thus couldnt do a summer league, which he said you had to do (in his opinion) to make varsity. i didnt even try out last yr, but now i regret not having pursued it. im going up against the same people again (fresh & sophs form 2 yrs ago are jrs & srs now) so i would be on the border talent wise again. however all the srs know they are on & i would prob be the only sr trying out not already on. i havent even played in 2 yrs, but i have a little more strength now (so does every1 else), but is it worth trying out, cause theres also a lot of politics, & dont

You are stressing over this. Take that same question and ask it again - to the coach. Not here.
First, ask the coach if you can see him in private because you need his advice, after school or during lunch. Then ask him the same question. He will give you the legal answer first, anyone can try out. And then tell him what you are worried about and he will probably tell you the truth about making the team. Even if it's bad news, it is better than not knowing and stressing about it.

PS- he will also respect you for coming to him. Which could carry some points.

First, your a senior so depending on the comeptivness of the program he might take you because its your last year at that school. Ive played 2 years of varsity baseball and have been lucky enough to be apart of a state championship team. That team took some seniors who had questionable talent. My best advice is that you cant make the team if u dont try out. SO just go out there and do it.

If you have spent time honing your skills while you were not on a team, you should be fine. Sometimes it is politics that keep you from playing (or starting), and there is nothing you can do about that. You got nothing to lose by trying out. Good luck, and don't give up!

of course its possible. practice a ton and make sure the coach knows how hard you've been working. if he's reasonable i'm sure he'll give you a fair chance regardless of your history with the team.
at my school a lot of the kids quit bball between sophmore and senior year (including two who def would have started). maybe your competition will slowly evaporate

If you just work hard, go to the cages and practice. You can make it. 1 thing have confidence. You can make it. Just believe in yourself.
