Normal time to stay in a cast can range anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks if it is a simple fracture and longer with a compound fracture or if you have something else going on that will cause longer healing times. You need to make sure that you follow the instructions of the doctor. The tibia is a weight-bearing bone meaning when you are standing that is one of the bones that helps support your weight and also accepts the force put through it from the ground when you walk. If it does not heal properly it can cause complications which only lead to possibly needing the cast for longer, surgery, or you not being able to return to activities such as running, jumping, etc. Basically...do what your told...follow the instructions given to you by the medical professionals that are treating you.

1 month in the cast for a simple break and don't exacerpate the wound for 1 more month. After that it will be stronger than before.

Well when I broke my arm I had my cast on for six weeks and when I broke my leg it was 8 weeks. It's really just for your safety to make sure your bones heal properly.I know casts suck and they itch hella bad.
