I enjoy boxing. I guess this is why I like to listen to Dr. Laura Schlessinger. She bops the head off many callers who barely finish saluting her. I'm amazed that her close friends don't tell her this is very rude. You can set someone straight without demeaning them...no? Or am I being unkind...?

I've only heard her a couple of times, so maybe I'm not qualified to weigh in. What I can say is that like a lot of radio shows, callers tend to get a little long-winded and aren't focused on what they want to say. Radio shows need to follow a schedule and try to allow for as many callers as possible. Some callers just don't get this, so the host needs to take matters into his/her own hands. Ok, perhaps she could be more pleasant, but I wouldn't say that she cruel since I don't know her. Just a thought.

You're not being unkind, but maybe just a tad wimpy. Some of those women call in, clueless, and it's Dr. Laura's job to be brutally honest for their own good. What good would she be to people if she didn't tell them like it is? We all need a little shock back into reality from time to time.

Dr.Laura is a businessperson, not a therapist. Her doctorate is in physiology!

Her job is to get ratings and sell advertising for the stations that carry her program, and to do that she gives her listening audience exactly what they want, which is a mean, "straight-talking" character so confident of herself that any moment you expect her to "come a cropper"...

Of course she will manage that well when it happens, too, just as she did the revelation that nude pics of her circulating on the web were indeed real, and had been taken by former boyfriend and supervisor, Bill Ballance, with whom she had an affair.

You're not being unkind, you're right. However, that is exactly what made Dr. Laura famous in the first place. I personally don't get it and I can't stand her because of it.

I totally agree with you, and this is one reason I won't ever listen to that old bag. I also believe this is true with everybody in real life. We can treat others better when we try to.

I can't stand that self-righteous, sanctimonious, wrinkled-up, chicken-necked old hag. She should get off her soapbox and quit pretending to be the "morality monitor".

If people don't like her show, they don't have to listen or call in. It's really that simple.

Because she is a dominatrix who loves to be "in charge" however if she were with me I would put a ball-gag in her mouth, wrap her in latex and beat her azz good with a pizza paddle.
