drive toward the hoop. don't be afraid of contact, as contact will lead you to getting some fouls called your way.
Just ask Dwayne Wade. Last year in the finals, he was given the benefit of the doubt on a TON of calls simply for being aggressive while driving to the basket.

The best way to get to the free throw line is to play inside basketball. This is either driving to the basket or posting up and doing shot fakes. Either one of these typically get people to the line but you have to be fouled in the act of shooting in order to get the shots. If you not a post up player I would work on your dribbling and your speed. If you want to take the ball to the basket the key is to have a fast first step and a controlled dribble. Once you get into the lane you always want to go up with a controlled layup as well.

being 13 there is alot of room for growth in your game and alot of potential for getting better. To get to the free throw line you have to get fouled while shooting, so working on driving to the basket and finishing your lay-up strong and in contol. Also if you get an offensive rebound work on shot fakes, that will get a defender up in the area and then create contact by jumping into them and shooting. Basically, try to create contact when going to the basket...but be under control or it will be a foul on you.

You sound as if you might play a guard position. Usually it's the people who drive to the basket or play underneath who get fouled and go to the line. Try driving to the basket every now and then or move in from behind the three-point line.

Penetrate, penetrate, penetrate!!!
Don't shy away from contact and you'll almost always get fouled by bigger, slower guys.
As has already been said, you shoot free throws when you are fouled in the act of shooting.
I scored more points from the free throw line when I was in high school than I did on the floor!
To shoot a free throw, place your feet shoulder-width apart with your shooting foot (if you're right handed use your right foot) slightly in front of the your other one. Place your shooting palm on the ball so that your index finger and your thumb make an "L" shape and your index finger is pointing directly up at the basket when you shoot. When I had smaller hands, I used to use the needle hole as a maker for where to put my index finger and then placed my thumb on one of the lines. Remember, "L" shape! Your other fingers should be spread evenly so that they're comfortable, but spaced apart.
Place your non shooting hand on the side of the ball, using your fingers to steady the ball. Hold the ball down at your stomach and bend your knees so that you use your entire body when shooting for power. Keep your eyes on the basket now (I personally try to aim for bolts) Take a deep breath and on the exhale shoot the ball by extending your knees and pushing up with your shooting arm. If you made the "L" your shot should produce a natural rotation that is commonly referred to as the "shooting touch".
It takes practice for sure, but if you take it one step at a time, slowly, like a robot, then you'll be able to get the hang of it in no time. Of course, when practicing just the motion itself, don't try to shoot the ball, because it won't make it from a stand still! Just practice rotating it straight up into the air.

Drive to the basket with the ball for a layup. If someone is in your way, you have a chance of being fouled if they try to block you. Try that, it should work.

you get them because u were fouled with the other team in penalty or u were fouled in the act of shooting. drive to the basket, bump the defender in the chest slightly, fallaway a bit, scream and wait for the referee to blow his whistle. or if the game is close and your team is ahead, always get the inbounds pass.

Go down at the smallest touch but be smart about it. Unlike football you can't get a yellow card in basketball if you take too many dives. Go for it ^_______^!
