x squared - 64 = 0 is similar to x squared = 64 which means what number when multiplied to itself results in 64. the square root of 64 is +8 and -8. the addition sign above the minus sign means there are two possible answers, a negative one and a positive one. the sign is usually used in getting the square roots since there is always 2 roots of a positive number.

x=8 because; x squared-64=0, add 64 to both sides (with the comuitive property of what you do to one side you do to the other) that would make it; x squared=64 then you take the square root of both sides with the same comunitive property and get that the x squared is x and 64 is 8; x=8
the addition sign over the minus sign stands for (THE ABSOLUTE VALUE) from 8 to zero the absolute value is positive 8. From 0 to negative 8 the absolute value is still 8

x squared-64=0
add 64 to each side to get:
x squared=64
take the square root of each side of the equation to undo the square
x= + or - 8 (positive or negative 8)
an addition sign over a minus sign means positive or negative. Its usually placed by the square root symbol to represnet plus or minus the square root of something.

That answer is incorrect. When you square a number, you multiply it to itself, and 1 X 1 = 1, so your answer would be -63, not zero
What you have to figure out is what is multiplied to itself to get 65? That would be 8.
the addition sign just above means "plus or minus"

x = 8
because 8 squared is 64, and 64 -64 = 0
a plus sign porbably means its a squar root,
example +- 4 = squar root of 16. negative 4 squared and positive 4 squared both equal 16.

No, you didn't get it right.
x^2 - 64 = 0
add 64 to both sides
x^2 = 64
Take the square root
x = +/- (plus or minus, or positive or negative) 8

Cameron Q, if she saved 2 out of 6 apples, this could nicely be a million/3, not a million/4. Steven D, the project deals with complete apples (curiously). MS.Berry is powerful; here is why: enable a = form of apples that Hannah bought. value for 3 apples is ninety 5 cents, so complete value = (ninety 5/3)a. income = 40 5 cents * 3/4 of the apples = 40 5(3/4)a. income = seventy 5 cents = income - value = 40 5(3/4)a - (ninety 5/3)a, or (a hundred thirty five/4)a - (ninety 5/3)a = seventy 5, or 405a - 380a = 900, or 25a = 900, or a = 36. on the grounds that Hannah bought 3/4 of the apples, she saved a million/4; (a million/4)(36) = 9.
