The label says "dry clean only," nothing else. There isn't anything about the material or ironing instructions. What should I do?

Absolutely - just look at the label and see what the fabric is and adjust your iron for the right temperature (all irons nowadays have a fabric temperature guide on them but if in doubt, always start lower) Also important is to use a nice clean white pillowcase cut in half lengthwise and use it between the pants and the iron.(I use this protecting cloth on all my T-shirts, sweaters) This will protect them from scorching and from developing a nasty shine. But otherwise it's not difficult.

Yes you can iron them, put a damp cloth over pants then iron over the cloth. This stops the material going shiny and also creates more steam like the drycleaners use

Yes and you can use steam but you need to use a "pressing cloth". Just lay a piece of plain white cotton or cotton blend cloth on top of the pants to separate them from the iron.

You can press them with a warm iron but I would use a pressing cloth or a towel over the pants.

yes you can iron them, clothing companies are only required to put one method of care on clothing tags. If you can't find what fabric it is start at the lowest setting your iron has and work your way up.

yes you can iron but it leaves a mark on the fabric to prevent this try to use white facial tissue paper on top of the fabric then iron the tissue paper in this way it is protected.
